What is on the list
- Use the complete tab-delimited download, not the “last 30 days” additions file, which is only the newest entries.
- About 9,117 rows with provider name, license number, NPI, provider type and exclusion effective date.
- The provider name is a single field and does not say whether it is a person or an organization, so search the full name either way.
- Some names include nicknames in quotation marks, and a few exact duplicate rows exist in the source.
How to check a name against it
- Download the complete list from the OMIG Medicaid exclusions page, or use OMIG’s online search.
- Search the name field for the person or organization, then compare license number and NPI.
- Treat a name match as a potential match until the identity is confirmed with the publisher, using identifiers such as NPI, license number, date of birth or address.
Check the federal lists too
A state list covers that state’s program. The federal LEIE and SAM.gov lists apply everywhere, so a complete check includes them.
Check names against every list at once
Exclia checks your employees, contractors and vendors against federal and state lists, keeps a dated record of every check, and flags potential matches for your review.
