Potential match review
Every potential match goes to one review queue with the evidence side by side. Record a decision with a reasoning note, and keep it in your compliance file.
What you can do
One queue, oldest first
Every potential match from monitoring waits in one queue, filterable by source list and by record, with a count in the navigation so nothing sits unseen.
Evidence side by side
Compare your record with the source list record field by field — name, NPI, state, provider type, date of birth — each marked as matching, differing or not comparable.
Where it came from
Each match shows the source list, the exact list version and when it was retrieved, so the decision can be traced back to the record that prompted it.
A documented decision
Record “not a match” or “confirm match” with a required reasoning note. Decisions are read-only afterwards; a correction is recorded as a new entry.
How to use it
- Step 1
Open the review queue
Follow the alert email or the Review link in the navigation. The oldest potential match is at the top.
- Step 2
Compare the fields
Read your record against the source list record. Fields that differ are often enough to show it is a different person.
- Step 3
Verify with the source when needed
If the fields agree, confirm the identity with the publisher using identifiers such as NPI, license number, date of birth or address.
- Step 4
Record your decision
Choose Not a match or Confirm match and write a short note explaining what you checked.
- Step 5
Let it settle
A not-a-match pair stays quiet in later runs. If the data behind it changes, it reopens for a fresh decision with the earlier one kept for reference.
Questions
No. It means their details are close enough to a listed record that a person should check. Only a reviewer’s recorded decision establishes whether it is the same person.
The note is the documented reasoning kept with the decision. It is what you show an auditor who asks why a name was cleared or confirmed.
If the person’s identifying details or the list record change, the pair reopens in the queue for a new decision. The earlier decision stays visible beside it.
