Exclusion screening software buyer’s guide · Chapter 5 of 6

Pricing, trials and contracts

How exclusion screening is usually priced, what drives the cost, and the contract terms worth reading before you sign.

How it is usually priced

Most tools price by the number of people and organizations you monitor, by search, or as part of a larger compliance suite. Monitoring-based pricing is the easiest to forecast: the cost follows your roster, not how often someone searches.

What to look for

Published prices let you budget before a call. A trial on your own roster shows how many potential matches you will review each month, which is the real cost of a tool. Check whether state lists, reports, users and API access cost extra.

Contract terms worth reading

Contract length, automatic renewal, minimum commitments, price increases at renewal, and what happens to your data and reports when you leave.

  • Is pricing published, and what is included at each level?
  • Can we trial on our real roster without a contract?
  • What does it cost if our roster grows mid-contract?
  • How do we get our data and reports out at the end?
