Screening audit trail

A screening audit trail is the dated record of every exclusion check: who and what was checked, against which list editions, what matched and what was decided. It is the evidence an auditor asks for.

What to know

  • A useful record names the list version used, not only the date, because lists change every month.
  • Keep the record for as long as your retention rules require; the overpayment rule looks back six years.
